Do you know the many ways you can support our mission?
As we move into the season of giving, you may find yourself being asked to give back to your community in a number of ways. Some groups may want your time; others may want your money. If you are passionate about establishing a healthy future for Indianapolis, then perhaps you should consider providing your support to the IPS Education Foundation.
One of the many initiatives of IPSEF is the teacher-initiated programming found through our direct support of Donors Choose.org. If you’re unfamiliar with DonorsChoose.org, teachers are able to apply online for projects or supplies they would like to see in their classrooms with specific dollar amounts. Once a teacher’s program is funded at 50% through individual donations, the IPS Education Foundation, through our unrestricted donations, funds the remaining amount immediately. Every year IPSEF is able to fund hundreds of projects throughout IPS that are initiated directly in the classroom, because we know that every teacher has different needs, and we want to provide the support these great teachers need to be successful.
Did you know that your Thanksgiving meal shopping may also support IPSEF? Shop at Gordon Food Service using the “Fun Funds” program, and a portion of proceeds from every purchase made at GFS will be donated to IPSEF. Make sure to register at gfs.com/funfunds or in-store to support the IPSEF. Our organization number is 2410270.
IPS Educators and staff often want to give back to their district. If you’re an employee of IPS, you can choose to donate a portion of your paycheck to the Foundation. Download your IPSEF Pledge Card here and return it to our offices by mail or email. We are so grateful for the work you put into the lives of IPS kids.
